2/13 Tri-Valley League Scores, Quotes & Notes

Thank you to the coaches who provided stats and quotes to us. A recap from Tuesday’s Tri-Valley League basketball action:

Caney Valley def. Dewey, OK 47-27

Fredonia def. Cherryvale 47-37

  • Cherryvale senior Kylee Wagner led Cherryvale with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Ally Poole led the team with 7 rebounds.
  • “We played hard and gave ourselves a chance. Again it was the problem of scoring with any consistency. In the first half we missed some easy shots, but was able to find enough scoring to keep us in it. That second half after the first 4 minutes we couldn’t buy a basket. We also hurt ourselves by committing way to many fouls 30 feet and farther away from the basket. I was happy that when we were manged to stay more active tonight on offense and defense. Just couldn’t overcome our lack of scoring.” Cherryvale head coach David Smedley

Eureka def. Erie 63-40

Leon-Bluestem def. Humboldt 68-51

Caney Valley def. Dewey, OK 79-68

Cherryvale def. Fredonia 73-34

  • “I was pleased with the effort and energy for the most part with our guys tonight. They played really tight last time we matched up with Fredonia, tonight we did a much better of job of calming ourselves down and just playing basketball. Thought we played with patience, intensity, and teamwork most of the game. We were fortunate to be able to rest some guys late in order to save legs for the next one with Baxter.” – Cherryvale head coach Aaron Rehmert

  • “I thought we played a pretty solid game on both ends of the floor this evening. While Eureka scored a few more points than we like to give up, I thought we did a nice job of making what they did get difficult.  Offensively we played with good confidence and aggression which lead to make-able looks we were able to finish.” Erie head coach Nick Pfeifer

Humboldt def. Leon-Bluestem 61-57
