Labette County has captured the 2020 Southeast Kansas League volleyball championship. This is the Lady Grizzlies’ first league title in volleyball since 2004 and the fifth in program history — also winning it in 1988, 1989 and 1996.
With an unbalanced league slate due to COVID-19, the champion this season was determined by winning percentage in league competition. Labette County went 10-2 (.833), with Chanute taking second at 8-3 (.727) and Independence finishing third at 7-3 (.700).
LCHS’ championship ended the three-year run at the top by Independence — the longest such string of league titles since Chanute won four in a row from 2012-15.
This is the official final standings for the SEK League season. Also included is Saturday’s sub-state schedule for all league teams.
