GARNETT – In a Pioneer League, and Class 3A District 2, showdown, the Anderson County Bulldogs preveiled on Homecoming night over the Osawatomie Trojans by a score of 41-14. The win, along with Prairie View’s win, puts the Bulldogs tied with the Buffalo for the top spot in the district standings.

“We started off a little sluggish at the beginning of the game,” said Anderson County coach Logan Pegram. “I think with it being homecoming and playing Oz we got a little tied up in that stuff. After we settled in we really came to life both on offense and defense.”

The Bulldogs offense found it’s rhythm thanks to offensive line protection and the passing from Bo Dilliner, who went 10 for 15 with 240 yards passing and 4 touchdowns. Tanner Spencer caught 6 of Dilliner’s passes for 170 yards and 3 touchdowns.

“Tanner Spencer had another big game for us catching the ball. the (offensive) line gave Bo a lot of time to throw and he was able to find some guys open.” said Pegram.

Dilliner also carried the ball 13 times for 82 yards and a touchdown. Fisher Galey recorded the team’s other rushing touchdown with 43 yards on the night. Garret Edens hauled in the other touchdown pass from Dilliner for Anderson County.

The defensive side of the ball saw Josh Stifter recover a fumble with Jayden Jarrett and Corbin Danner both recording interceptions.

“Overall, it was a good performance for our kids and it was great to see some of the young guys that have been preparing us week after week get in late in the game.”

The battle for the top spot in the district will come to a head as Anderson county will head to LaCygne and battle Prarie View in a battle of Pioneer League teams.
