The times, they are a changin’.

Perhaps no league in our coverage area see’s as much turnover as the SEK League this year.

3 first-year head coaches in league: Chanute Clete Frazzel, Independence John Black and Fort Scott Bo Graham.

In addition to their 1st-year head coach, senior Quarterback Ty Bowman has generated a lot of buzz for the Blue Comets 2019 season.

It should come as no surprise then that Chanute leads this year’s SEK League Coaches Poll in 1st place votes.

Long-time SEK League favorite Fort Scott finished second, just one point behind Chanute.

In the SEK League Football Fan Polling, which included independents Pittsburg and Parsons, it was the Purple Dragons who took the top votes.

When asked who would lead the league in overall wins it was Pittsburg with 49.8% of the votes with Fort Scott finishing 2nd with 14%. Labette County finished with 12.3% of the votes and Parsons finished with 11.9% of the votes.
