Senior Cade Addis was 1 of 11 Senior football players from the state of Kansas recognized at the 26th Annual Sunflower Chapter of the National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete Banquet. The selection was based on the following criteria 40% Academic, 40% Football/Athletics and 20% Community involvement.
This year’s dinner was held Monday, May 6th at the Bill Snyder Family Stadium in Manhattan, KS. The Keynote Speaker was Kansas State Assistant Coach and former Quarterback Collin Klein. The event was co-MC’ed by David Lawrence and Stan Weber. Coach Bill Snyder and Kansas State AD Gene Taylor helped to bestow the award.
Cade was accompanied by his parents Josh and Casi Addis and Cherryvale head football Coach Harry Hester. Cade is the 2nd Cherryvale High football player to receive the award, Brandon Blackburn received this honor in 2009.
The primary function of the Sunflower Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame organization is to honor outstanding High School Scholar-Athletes, completing their Senior Year, who has excelled on the football field, in the classroom and as leaders in their schools and communities. Since 1992, the Sunflower Chapter has honored over 280 superb young men from all over the State of Kansas.
