Class 4A-II District 4 Week 8 Preview

Baxter Springs @ Parsons – These 2 teams combined for 0 offensive points and 85 points given up defensively. Expect this to be a reverse this week. Both teams have shown the ability to score, but defensively they cannot keep teams with offenses out of the endzone. Do not be shocked if this game is decided in an overtime or two and is one of the last games to record a final score. If you love offensive showcases, this has the makings of a record setting night in scoring in Southeast Kansas football.

Columbus @ Frontenac – If you love low-scoring, defensive battles, then this is the game to attend. Columbus’s defense allows only 11 points per game with 2 shut outs. Frontenac’s defense averages 16 points against per game. Both teams suffered Week 6 losses and bounced back with Week 7 shut outs. Frontenac stumbled out of the gate going 1-2 to start the season, but has gone 3-1 since. Columbus is still a top 5 team in the state and favorite to win this district. This weeks game should determine the district champion and runner-up.  Assuming that Riverton or Southeast doesn’t trip up Galena in the final 2 weeks, this match up will have no effect on the CNC title for either team. However, stranger things have happened.
