CHANUTE – Erie Red Devil Volleyball placed third on Saturday in the Chanute Tournament, improving their record to 16-8.
In pool play, the girls went 2-1 defeating Parsons 25-23, 25-23, and St Paul 25-15, 25-17; and losing to Frontenac 19-25, 22-25.
In bracket play, they defeated Coffeyville 25-10, 25-22, then lost to Labette County in the semi-final match 21-25, 17-25.
In the final match of the day they played Frontenac in the third place game coming out on top 25-22, 25-17.
“I was very proud of the girls being able to finish the day with a win, that third place game is always a challenge mentally. It was our sixth match of the day and we came out with energy and determination; they fought hard to win that game.” said Erie volleyball coach Karla LaForge
