HUMBOLDT – Erie High volleyball team swept the hosting Humboldt Lady Cubs and Yates Center Lady Wildcats in volleyball action on Monday night.

In the league match between Humboldt and Erie, the Lady Red Devils won the match in 3 sets: 18-25, 26-24, 25-21.

“We struggled with our passing tonight, we have to work on more consistent passing.  Our bright spot tonight was Maddie Kramer’s play at the net,” said Erie head coach Karla LaForge.
“We played great the first set and most of the second, however, we let me go on a run late in the game and we could not come back,” said Humboldt head coach Terry Meadows.

Erie went on to defeat Yates Center 25-12, 25-20. Against Yates Center for Erie the stats shook out like this: kills-Maddie-7, Skylar-5, Heaven Ellis-4, Assist-Skylar-9, Molly-8
Only the Humboldt match was league; Erie is 1-0 in the league and 14-5 overall.
Humboldt defeated Yates Center in 2 sets, 25-18, 25-7. “I thought our defense was much improved from the weekend, we just had too many little mistakes,” said Humboldt’s coach Terry Meadows.
With the sweep, Yates Center falls to 14-10 overall.
Erie’s varsity returns to action at the Chanute Tournament on Saturday.
