Erie varsity volleyball won 2 matches Tuesday night over Humboldt with a score of 25-23, 25-19. It was Erie’s first league match of the season.
For Humboldt Aricah McCall had 2 aces, 7 kills, and 8 digs. Kaylie Johnson contributed 5 kills and 1 dig. Alayna Johnson recorded 15 assists, 1 dig and 1 ace.
The second match Erie won 24-16, 25-21.
For Humboldt Morgan Mauk recorded the team’s lone ace. She also had 3 digs. Emma Johnson and Madison Gean had 10 digs. Alayna Johnson recorded 12 assists in the loss.
“We played well enough to win, I wasn’t real pleased with our overall effort tonight. Blocking was probably the best part of our game, which was great to see. We need to improve our serve receive.” said Erie volleyball head coach Karla LaForge.
Humboldt volleyball head coach Terry Meadows added on the Lady Cubs performance, “We served the ball much better than we had been severing, but we struggled offensively all night long.”

Assist-Cassidy Hines and Molly LaForge each had 17.
Solo blocks- Maddie Kramer 4, Ashlynn Aikins- 3.
Erie returns to action on Saturday at the Chanute Tournament.
