Oswego wasted no time taking control of Friday night’s contest, scoring in bunches during the first half to secure an emphatic 47-0 victory over Colony-Crest.
The Indians dominated on both sides of the ball from the opening kickoff, establishing a heavy ground attack while their defense completely shut down the Lancers’ offense.
Explosive First Quarter Sets the Tone
Oswego grabbed the momentum early and never looked back, putting up 24 points in the opening frame. Chance Mills kicked off the scoring with a 7-yard touchdown run at the 7:12 mark, followed by a successful two-point conversion run from Deonta Williamson.
Less than a minute later, the Indians capitalized on defense. Williamson scooped up a loose fumble and returned it 37 yards to the end zone. Mills punched in the conversion to widen the lead to 16-0.
Oswego struck again on its next possession when Williamson broke free for a 26-yard touchdown sprint. Wyatt McClure converted the two-point rush, giving the Indians a 24-0 cushion before the first quarter wrapped up.
Indians Stay on the Attack Before Halftime
The offensive surge continued into the second quarter. Just seconds into the period, Williamson connected with McClure on a 15-yard touchdown pass, followed by another Mills conversion.
At the 9:09 mark of the quarter, McClure handled things on the ground, plowing into the end zone from 3 yards out. Traven Higgins added the conversion points to push the margin to 40-0.
Williamson and McClure hooked up through the air once more before the half, connecting on a 35-yard touchdown strike with 6:54 remaining. Kadyn Reeves split the uprights on the PAT kick to round out the 47-point performance.
Complete Defensive Lockdown
Oswego’s defense controlled the line of scrimmage throughout the night, holding the Lancers to minus-9 rushing yards on seven attempts and just 25 yards through the air. The secondary created three interceptions against 16 pass attempts, while the unit as a whole surrendered only four first downs.
Offensively, Oswego finished with 178 yards on 22 carries while adding 67 yards through an efficient 3-for-5 passing performance. The combination of line control and big defensive plays allowed the Indians to stay well in front from start to finish.
