Senior Colton Fife stepped into his role at tailback when fellow Senior Nasson Wassun went down with an injury last week. He paced the Bulldogs in tune to 150 yards of total offense and four scores, in a 50-0 victory over Lebo.

Junior Ryan Wolgram capped off a 77-yard scoring drive when he punched it into the endzone from five yards out with 6:13 left to go in the first. Fife would add a rushing score from 44 yards out to have a 16-0 lead after the end of the first quarter.

Lebo’s Devan McEwan would lead several drives into Madison territory but the Bulldog defense would bend but not break as they forced the Wolves to have turnover on downs and forcing an interception late in the second half. McEwan finished the night with 12/23 with 118 yards passing.

“If we would have been able to finish off one of those drives, that would have given us some momentum. We knew were going to have a tough time slowing them down, but unfortunately, we weren’t able to get in on the scoring tonight,” Lebo Head Coach Brian Hadley added after the loss.

Brome Rayburn’s interception set the Bulldogs up with excellent field position at the Wolve’s 30-yard line with a 22-0 lead right before the half. Fife would find the endzone for the second time in the quarter punching it in from 3 yards out to give Madison a 28-0 lead.

The Madison defense flexed their muscles and forced a 3 and out. Lebo’s punt was shanked, only going five yards, setting the Bulldogs up with excellent field position once again. Junior Fullback Hunter Engle would score on a 6 yard rush with 38 seconds left in the half to give Madison all the momentum going into the halftime locker room.

The Bulldogs received the second-half kickoff and wasted no time finding the endzone once again. Fife would add a 2-yard rushing touchdown, capping off a 52-yard drive that only took a 1:08 off the clock.

Lebo would have another three and out and Rayburn would score on a 29-yard touchdown to finish off the game at 50-0 with 5:49 left to play in the third.

Madison finished the night with 313 yards of total offense with Lebo adding 152.

The Wolves dropped their second game in a row and will be in a must-win situation next week with Chase County.

Madison improved to 5-0 on their season and will face Valley Falls next week.
