The regular season has officially come to a close. These are the final SEK baseball and softball standings for the regular season.
*In softball, Chanute and Pittsburg both won their final games on Thursday to clinch a share of the SEK championship. Pittsburg has earned a second straight title after claiming the outright crown a year ago. It is the third SEK championship in program history, with the Purple Dragons also winning the title in 2007. Chanute won its second SEK championship in program history and first since 1995. This is the first shared championship for softball since 2005 when Columbus and Fort Scott tied for the title.
*Pittsburg had already locked up the outright SEK baseball championship earlier in the week. The Purple Dragons clinched their first league championship in baseball since 2019 when they shared the crown with Fort Scott. It is also the first outright title for PHS since 2018. Overall, Pittsburg has won 15 SEK championships in baseball, including four of the last five seasons.——————
