EUDORA — Despite holding the lead on two occasions in the first half, Fort Scott fell to host Eudora, 21-12, in the final game of the regular season here Friday night.

The loss dropped the Tigers to 1-7 on the season going into the Class 4A playoffs. They were tied with Ottawa for 14th in Class 4A East but won the tie-breaker on points. Fort Scott will travel to Chanute on Friday, Nov. 1 for a first-round playoff game with the third-seeded Blue Comets (7-1).

Eudora (3-5) took the lead in the second quarter when Octavious Lyles scored on an 8-yard run. A successful extra point put the Cardinals up by a point.

Nick Emerson’s 38-yard interception return put Fort Scott ahead again, 12-7, with 45 seconds remaining in the half. Again, the conversion failed.

Zeke Reazin scored on a one-yard run with 3:19 left in the third to put Eudora ahead for good, 14-12. He threw a 19-yard touchdown pass to Sloan Hayden with exactly a minute to go in the period.
