As the fall season approaches, the Fort Scott High School Cross Country team is lacing up their shoes and hitting the trails once again. Led by the experienced Head Coach Tracey Bogina, who boasts an impressive 34 years at the helm, the team is gearing up for another thrilling run in the Southeast Kansas League (SEK).

Impressive Achievements in 2022

In the previous season, the team showcased their prowess, earning their spot in the KSHSAA 4A State Championship. The girls’ squad made their mark by securing a spot in the state championship, while individual standout Trevin Worthing shone as the SEK Champion and earned his own ticket to the KSHSAA 4A State Championship.

Saying Farewell to Key Players

The team bids farewell to some notable players who made a significant impact. Jaden Loercher, Lilly Westhoff Brody Gomez will be greatly missed for their contributions on the field. Their dedication and skills will surely be remembered.

Returning Talents to Watch

This year, Fort Scott High School Cross Country is fortunate to welcome back 7 returning lettermen who are ready to tackle the challenges ahead. Keep an eye on these standout athletes:

  • Trevin Worthing: A true star and an All SEK Champion, Worthing has clinched the title three times and is a 4A State Qualifier thrice as well.
  • Cody Geiger: Don’t underestimate Geiger’s prowess; his All SEK Honorable Mention and 16th place finish in the previous championship show his determination.
  • Mesa Casper: Having qualified twice for the 4A Team State Championship, Casper’s experience and skill make her an invaluable asset.
  • Jocelyn Fess: Fess secured an impressive 3rd place in the All SEK rankings and is a 4A Team State Qualifier.
  • Carsen Allen: Allen’s notable achievement includes an All SEK Honorable Mention and an impressive 13th place finish in the championship. He’s also a 4A Team State Qualifier.

Exciting New Faces
