The Chanute Blue Comets boys basketball team hosted the Parsons Vikings on Tuesday. After a close game, Chanute rolled out with the 76-69 victory. Chanute’s top scorers were Corbett Kimberlin with 17 and Brayden Frederick with 16. Parsons was lead by Daquan Johnson’s 19 points.

The Comets did not play terrific on the defensive end of the floor. They allowed  way too many opportunities at offensive rebounds.

“We just need to consistently get better on defense. There were some things that we didn’t do real well on that end of the floor that could get a bit more solid. Just little things getting back in transition, matching up a little bit quicker.” Head coach Max Ruark had to say.

Ruark thought Frederick played especially well in Tuesday’s game on both ends of the court. He came off of the bench to control the glass throughout the game.

“I thought Brayden Frederick played really well. Corbett played really well of course but I expected that out of him. The guy who really gave us a boost throughout the ball game was Freddy, he came off the bench scored 16 for us, Came out and gave us some good rebound opportunities, both offensively and defensively.”
