ERIE – The Humboldt Cubs offense would not be denied on Friday night as they scored 50 points in the first half en route to a 64-0 district win over the Erie Red Devils.

Standout senior Conor Haviland continued his dominance going a perfect 4-of-4 with 51 yards passing and 1 touchdown thrown. However, the most impressive feat for Haviland is for the second week in a row averaging close to 30 yards per carry. The Cubs senior finished with 226 yards rushing with 5 touchdowns on 8 carries.

Gunner Elder finished with 43 yards with one carry, which went the distance for an offensive touchdown. Senior Jackson Aikins hauled in the 28 yards touchdown pass from Haviland.

On special teams, Cooper Jaro tallied up 93 yards on punt return, finishing with 109 total yards. Senior Jackson Aikins also finished over the century mark in total yardage with 38 receiving yards, 76 kick return yards, and 17 punt return yards.

Defensively, Speed Hoepker lived up to his first name with 11 total tackles, leading the team on Friday night. Β Drake Harrington recorded 2 interceptions along with underclassman Dakota Slocum and Gavin Page, who had an interception apiece.

In the final 3 games of the season, Humboldt will play the next 2 at home before traveling to Southeast-Cherokee, who is also undefeated overall and in league play this season.

Humboldt will host the Riverton Rams on Friday night. The Rams defeated their former CNC rival Northeast by a score of 48-18.

Erie now drops to 0-2 in the district and 1-4 overall and will travel to Southeast.
