ST. PAUL, KS – The St Paul Indians are on a roll this young football season. Lead by a tough bunch of Seniors, the Indians have had their way with their last three opponents by the total score of 125 to 8.
Tonight’s contest with the Frankfort Wildcats, Sophomore Adam Albertini and Senior Brenden Doherty lead the scoring charge. Albertini scored his first rushing TD with 9:18 left in the first quarter. The extra point was no good. With 8:44 left in the first quarter QB Braven Born turned the corner and scored a rushing TD.
The Indian defense shut down the Frankfort Wildcats. Seniors Koby Spielbusch, Grant Hutcherson, Anthony Albertini and Junior Collin Carlson kept the Wildcats behind their line of scrimmage all night. With 4:43 left in the first quarter Born to Doherty for their first strike. Collin Carlson not only can hunt the ball on defense, he also can score on offense. With 1:48 left in the first quarter he had a rushing TD. Born to Doherty for the extra point. St. Paul lead 26 to 0 after the end of the first quarter.
Starting where they left off in the 1st quarter Braven Born to Brenden Doherty for a strike with 10:24 in the second quarter. The extra point was no good. The Wildcats could not move the ball on the St Paul defense all night. With 8:07 left in the second quarter Junior Keaton Kennedy scored a rushing TD with Soph Hayden Smith running in the extra point.
The final score on the evening was Adam Albertini on an end around, out running all the Wildcat defenders in tow. Junior Tyler Struthers ran in the extra point. Sealing the final score St Paul Indians 48 Frankfort Wildcats 0.
Next up for the Indians will be the Axtell Eagles (2-1). The start time for this contest will be 6 pm. This will be a true test for the Indians next Friday.
