Erie, KS – The roller coaster season continues for the Neodesha Bluestreaks with a 34-14 win over a struggling Erie Red Devil team.
”It was nice to play pretty good. A lot of kids got in tonight and that made it fun for them all.” said Neodesha Head Coach John Black.
Neodesha’s Randall McKinnis had a TD on a fumble recovery. McKinnis also rushed for 96 yards on 5 carries and another TD. Running back Dominic Skinner had 7 carries for 54 Yards and 2 TD’s. Foreign exchange student Julio Gonzales made every extra point kick excpet the last one that was blocked by Erie
Quarterback Michael Shinkle had 5 carries for 91 yards and a TD. He also was 4 of 10 for 74 yards. Shinkle did leave the game due to injury.
“We need him back healthy soon. He is a big part of our team on both sides of the ball.” Said Black.
Neodesha is now 2-2 on the year and improve to 1-1 in the Tri-Valley League with a showdown against Cherryvale looming at home next Friday. Erie is now 4-0 this season with all losses coming against league opponents and Caney Valley coming to town next Friday night.
