The Central-Burden cross country team is ready to hit the ground running with a strong group of returning seniors. Coach Jason Braun has set a clear goal for his team: to achieve significant personal records for all returning runners. With a resilient and mentally tough group, the Raiders are confident they can reach their goals this season.
The Heart of the Team
The Raiders will be led by a core group of four seniors: James Braun, Ty Henderson, Gunnar Parsons, and Darren Underwood. This group has been the “nucleus of the team since they were freshmen” and their experience and leadership will be invaluable. Coach Braun also highlighted other returning runners who contribute greatly to the team: Kyson Henley, Logan Patten, Harlie Vaughn, and Aubrey Miller.
Strength in Resilience
The team’s biggest strength is their resilience. Coach Braun believes they will be “extremely mentally tough” this year, which is a crucial quality for a sport as demanding as cross country. He’s excited to see how their hard work in practice translates to results on the course.
The coach’s optimism for the upcoming season comes from the dedication of his team. They’re a great group of kids who are putting in the work, and he’s excited to see where they end up.
