The postseason begins this weekend for girls’ tennis teams across the state of Kansas with regional competition.

Area teams will be competing in four different regionals in three classifications, including Class 5A at Emporia on Saturday, Class 4A at both Chanute and Topeka-Hayden Saturday, and Class 3-2-1A at Conway Springs Friday and Saturday.

Here are the participating teams in each of those regionals:

CLASS 5A/EMPORIA (EMPORIA HS COURTS):
Andover, Emporia, Highland Park, Pittsburg, Shawnee Heights, Spring Hill, Topeka-Seaman, Topeka West.
CLASS 4A/CHANUTE (CHANUTE HS COURTS):
Chanute, Coffeyville-Field Kindley, Columbus, El Dorado, Fort Scott, Independence, Labette County, Parsons.
CLASS 4A/TOPEKA-HAYDEN (KOSSOVER TENNIS CENTER):
Atchison, Baldwin, Bishop Miege, Hiawatha, Iola, Ottawa, Paola, Topeka-Hayden.
CLASS 3A/CONWAY SPRINGS (CONWAY SPRINGS TENNIS COURTS):
Anthony/Harper-Chaparral, Conway Springs, Douglass, Haven, Hutchinson-Trinity Catholic, Kingman, Neodesha, Pittsburg-St. Mary’s Colgan, South Barber, Sterling, Wichita-Classical, Wichita Independent.
The top six singles and top six doubles finishers at each regional tournament will qualify for the state competition. State tournaments will be held the weekend of Oct. 18-19 at the following locations — Class 5A: Pittsburg High School Tennis Courts in Pittsburg; Class 4A: T.H. Vaughan Tennis Center in Winfield; and Class 3-2-1A: Harmon Park Tennis Complex in Prairie Village.
