SEDAN — The Sedan Blue Devils offense had a total of 443 yards, including 154 yards passing with four touchdowns for a 56-22 win over Oswego in the opening game of Eight Man I-District 1 play.
Oswego was plagued with 4 turnovers, 3 fumbles and 1 interception that was returned for an 80 yard pick-six. Oswego’s Jace Wilson provided all the scoring for the Indians, with 3 rushing touchdowns.
Sedan’s Tayte Alderman was a one-man wrecking crew on Friday night. He scored or was involved in all 7 of the team’s offensive scores and the defensive interception returned for a touchdown. Those scores for Alderman included a 45, 48 and 10 yard touchdown run, a 13, 14, and 3 yard touchdown pass to Dameion Hatten, and a 43 yard pass to Nile Osburn.
The game opened up with Oswego leading at the end of the 1st quarter 16-6. Sedan went on to outscore the Indians 40-6.
Sedan moved to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in district play. The Blue Devils will next travel to Dexter to take on Cedar Vale/Dexter, which soundly defeated Flinthills 56-6.
Oswego fell to 3-1 overall and 0-1 in district play. The Indians will host West Elk on Friday night. The Patriots defeated Central-Burden 70-44.
