SEK-Sports.com Network will livestream broadcast the Humboldt Cubs for the 2019 Football Playoffs via their YouTube Channel.

This will be the 2nd year, 20th KSHSAA postseason event, that the SEK-Sports.com Network will livestream on their channel.

“From our first broadcast at sub-state volleyball in 2017 to now, our goal is and always will be to present a quality product for our fans and the family members of student-athletes to enjoy,” said Zoel Lopez, SEK-Sports.com managing editor.

Joining SEK-Sports.com for coverage of the Humboldt Cubs will be Brett Shields. A former SEK League student-athlete, Shields was color commentator for the Independence HS Bulldogs for six years on the radio and recently served as “The Voice of the Humboldt Cubs”.

“I’ve always loved sports, especially football. I have had any desire to broadcast a sport until Independence HS Play-By-Play broadcaster Cain Carpenter asked me to join him as his color commentator during the 2013 football season. I instantly fell in love with it,” said Shields.

Lopez, recognized by the Kansas Association of Broadcasters with state awards in play-by-play as well as a national award winner from the Collegiate Broadcasters Inc. for sports production, noted some features of SEK-Sports.com Network events.

“We pride ourselves in putting together a consistent, quality broadcast product. From the right audio levels, smooth, crisp picture quality to easy to read graphics and scorebugs, we want to make sure we set ourselves apart from other options that fans have,” said Lopez. “That’s what’s great about the group we have with SEK-Sports. Not only do we have people that are passionate about providing coverage of our area student-athlete’s, but also producing a quality product is equally just as important.”

Shields also added, “Although I would call my first regular season of ply-by-play a success, I wanted to be better. As the 2019 playoffs begin, it’s an honor to join the SEK-Sports.com team. Working with Zoel and the crew and having the opportunity to pick their brain and learn as much as I can from them to improve my broadcasting skills will hopefully allow me to bring the best and most quality product to not only Humboldt, but all of Southeast Kansas.”
