The Chanute Blue Comets’ girls basketball squared off against the Parsons Vikings on Tuesday. Parsons won the contest 51-34. Nena Taylor’s stellar 32 points led Parsons to this victory,

Chanute’s overall game didn’t seem to be at the same level as they have been this season. Head coach Dustin Fox had this to say:

“Who we were tonight doesn’t have to be who we are moving forward. We got outworked tonight but, credit to Parsons, they worked us over and that’s not who we’ve been this year. It was disappointing to see us play with the lack of effort that we did but, we know we are better than that and we will be better than that moving forward.”

It wasn’t all bad for Chanute. Molly Rollins dropped 10 points and Kori Babcock shot really well for 12. The Blue Comets showed a great ability to create turnovers but unfortunately weren’t able  to cash in.

“Kori is somebody that we found we could always count on. Every night she is going to get some points and she is a really talented kid. She stepped up and hit some really big shots for us. Molly did a really good job of getting out in the transition and finishing some difficult shots on the break.”
