All scores are in from Friday night’s football action around the Southeast Kansas League.
*With a 40-26 victory over Field Kindley, Chanute has captured at least a share of the SEK championship. This is the Blue Comets’ second straight title and third in the past four seasons. Overall, CHS has won 13 SEK championships in football (1934, 1935, 1936, 1981 Lower Division, 1985 Lower, 1991 Lower, 1992 Lower, 1995 Lower, 2005, 2009, 2019, 2021, 2022)
*Chanute can wrap up the outright title next week with a home win over Labette County. The Grizzlies can still earn a share of the crown by beating Chanute. In that scenario, it could be a three-way tie for the championship if Field Kindley wins at Fort Scott. All three of those teams would be 3-1 in the final standings based on those results.
