As the new school year kicks off, all of us at SEK Sports are geared up for another incredible year of highlighting the outstanding student-athletes across Southeast Kansas.
With every new season comes a common question: Which schools are in the SEK Sports coverage area?
While everyone defines the boundaries of Southeast Kansas a little differently—and our coverage has evolved over time—we have defined our official footprint for the 2026–27 school year. Our mission is to cover 50 area schools, giving their student-athletes the recognition and spotlight they deserve.
Here is a breakdown of the leagues and schools in our primary coverage area:
Full League Coverage
We provide comprehensive coverage for every school in the following four leagues:
- Southeast Kansas (SEK) League: Chanute, Coffeyville-Field Kindley, Fort Scott, Independence, Labette County, Parsons, and Pittsburg.
- Crawford-Neosho-Cherokee (CNC) League: Baxter Springs, Columbus, Frontenac, Galena, Girard, Riverton, and St. Mary’s Colgan.
- Tri-Valley League: Bluestem, Caney Valley, Cherryvale, Eureka, Fredonia, Humboldt, and Neodesha.
- Three Rivers League: Altoona-Midway, Central Heights, Chetopa, Crest, Erie, Jayhawk-Linn, Marmaton Valley, Northeast-Arma, Oswego, Pleasanton, Southern Coffey County, Southeast-Cherokee, St. Paul, Uniontown, and Yates Center.
Expanded Footprint Coverage
In addition to our four core leagues, we cover select schools within our geographical footprint that fit directly into our media mission:
- Pioneer League: Anderson County, Burlington, Iola, and Prairie View.
- South Central Border League: Burden-Central, Cedar Vale/Dexter, Flinthills, Sedan, and West Elk.
- Lyon County League: Hartford, Lebo, Madison, Olpe, and Waverly.
